PREPARATION

  1. Prepare the Seasoning. Mix salt, black pepper, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, and basil in a small bowl.
  2. Place the Redefine flank steak in a large bowl, sprinkle the seasoning mixture over it, and thoroughly coat it.
  3. Cook the Redefine Flank Steak. Heat 2 tbsps. oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak in the hot pan for approximately 3 minutes per side until a caramelized crust forms. Slice the steak into 1 cm thick pieces and sear again until thoroughly cooked. Set aside.
  4. Cook the Vegetables. Heat 2 tbsps. oil in the skillet. Add the onion and green pepper, cooking and stirring until tender and caramelized.
  5. Assemble the Sandwich. Preheat the oven to the broiler (grill) setting. Divide the cooked flank pieces between the bottoms of 2 baguettes. Layer with caramelized onion and green pepper, then top with sliced cheese. Place on a cookie sheet and broil until the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes. Cover with the top half of the baguette and serve.

*To make this recipe vegan, substitute the Sween cheese with vegan hard cheese.
