Your challenge

In this role you will be responsible for transitioning food products from the lab to full-scale production. This role involves working closely with the R&D team to develop processes that ensure food safety, efficiency, and consistency. The technologist will also focus on continuous improvement, technological troubleshooting, and product maintenance.

  • Collaborate with the R&D team to design and optimize processes for scaling up food products from lab to production scale.
  • Develop and execute work programs aimed at achieving company goals under tight development milestones. 
  • Define and implement equipment and processes that achieve high quality and consistency.
  • Ensure all scaled-up processes meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Address and resolve any technological issues that arise during production.
  • Provide technical support for production challenges and implement improvement processes.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, including updates to the SAP infrastructure.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Production, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on new processes and improvements.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • This position requires extensive travel abroad to various production facilities, and potential new equipment suppliers.
  • Willingness to be involved in hands-on work. 
  • 5+ years of experience in food production, process development, or a related area.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of food processing and scale-up techniques.
  • Skilled at effectively communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work and report in English.
  • Competent in leading projects independently.
  • The role requires working in both office and production environments.
  • Proficiency in using SAP or similar ERP systems- Advantage.
