This role is designed as a consultancy/contractor position, requiring a commitment of two days per week.
The Intermediate Safety Expert will operate independently, providing guidance and support across various departments to promote a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment.
Report to: Manager of Maintenance-Engineering-SHE
Work relationship: Maintenance – Engineering – SHE, Production, QA & QC, Factory Technology, Logistics service (Expedition), HR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Management: Advise on and monitor risk-reducing measures, recommend appropriate PPE for various work conditions, and address safety, health, and environmental deviations with corrective actions. Support investigations of serious accidents and independently report on less serious incidents.
- Instruction and Training: Organize and deliver training on new procedures with the SHE manager, ensure all employees receive documented training, develop instructional materials, enforce PPE compliance, and facilitate Task Risk Analyses (TRA). Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor to promote safety practices.
- Controls and Validations: Participate in the validation of new and modified machinery, engage in Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E), and monitor the progress of corrective actions. Address risks related to changes in installations or work environments.
- Emergency Response and Contingency Planning: Contribute to the development of the Emergency Response and Contingency organization, including co-organizing and supervising emergency response exercises.
- Information and Reporting: Ensure the quality of reports on accidents and incidents, enter data into the SHE database, and coach employees on reporting unsafe situations and behaviors.
